Years ago I lived on a farm and raised chickens and sold farm fresh eggs. I can't say that I miss it terribly. Chickens are not extremely pleasant creatures. But those eggs! So fresh and frequently we had eggs with two or even three yolks! Eggs are so primal, so satisfying. And holding an egg that is still warm from the chicken is something that feeds your soul. This piece is one that I have hanging in my own home until it sells.

 

 

This painting is 2 inches by 2 inches irregular on cotton muslin. It was created with acrylic paint and the edges were burned to add to its rustic and vintage feel. It is surface mounted on a piece of acid-free corrugated mat board and professionally framed in a custom frame (it reminds me of an egg crate). It was painted in 2007. Because it is painted on cotton it does not have glass covering the painting so you can truly experience this lovely and unique work of art.
