Colored Pencil pieces are quite interesting. They have a depth and fascination that is unlike any other media. They also take hours and hours and multiple layers and burnishing and more layers and burnishing and, whew! that's a lot, but it's the only way to get this type of look. This pot has fastastic color variations and a very substantial appearance.
This painting is ... hmmm, I don't seem to have the size with me right now. Sorry. It's about so much by such and thus. Hmmm. Guess somewhere around 5 x 7 or 6 x 8 inches and is painted with colored pencil on 140 pound cold-press watercolor paper. It was painted in 2008. It is professionally double matted with a blue and a white mat and framed in a simple natural colored wooden frame. The frame shop also put a nice spacer between the painting and the mats so it adds a dimension almost like a shadow box. It's hanging at the art league gallery right now so I don't have it here to measure. I'll get it back and measure it and take a picture of it in the frame. It looks real nice in the frame, the colors of the mats and frame really bring out the colors in the piece.
