I do very few watercolors -- the colors are just so intense. But the colors of the iris in mamma's garden this spring were too intense for any other media. Then this very self-satisfied bee came along as though asking for his portrait to be painted. So I obliged. Do you think he would be pleased?

 

This painting is 3 1/4 inches by 4 3/4 inches and is painted with watercolors paints on 140# cold-press watercolor paper. It was painted in 2008. It is attractively framed in a simple wooden frame.
