I remember a week long camping trip with my family when I was a child. We were almost alone in a wide meadow bordered by tall trees. On the other side of the trees was a river where my father spent most of his days fly fishing. Through the midst of the meadow, sometimes almost hidden by the tall grasses, sparkled a narrow and happy little stream. Almost, it was too small to be even called a stream. But it was my meadow for that week and I could call it what I would. I found crawdads and watercress in the cool shadows and muddy overhangs. It was still springtime. Warm enough to wade in the sparkling water. Not too hot to just lay in the grass listening to the music of the water nymphs splashing over and around the rocks while I daydreamed away the days.
